The Fridge: Interface Design

Goal: Provide a platform for kids to be creatively engaged.

Process: Brainstorm, In-person presentation and critiques, wire-framing, usability testing, implementation of feedback.

Outcome: A designed holistic experience for kids to create, communicate, and share that provides real world object and context.

Tools: Sketch, InVision, Paper Prototyping, Persona Creation.

What I like about the project: I got to collaborate with my colleague, Eli Ouellette. In this partnership we brainstormed, iterated, and designed the entire experience and interface.

Metaphors run deep, harkening back to familiar analog objects, such as a fridge for safekeeping, a wheel for surprise selection, magnets to “display” artwork to the fridge, and pencils and paper to provide a creative canvass.
